We are Jason Ashman, Philip Challinor and Adrian Pickersgill.
We all come from conventional financial consultancy and financial planning backgrounds and have worked together in various ways since 2000.
In that time, we’ve gained a tremendous amount of experience, individually and collectively. We learned a lot. And we talked a lot. During this time, we realised that we were alike in our thinking – and very different to many others in our industry.
The decision was made to work independently and free from third-party influence. That’s why we are fee-only and do not receive commissions from product providers.
We wanted people to know the truth about their financial futures.
That’s why we started Chatfield Private Client Limited in the spring of 2010.

We’re serious about being different to the conventional financial institutions you’re used to meeting. We deliberately operate in a forward-looking, innovative and adaptable way. Ensuring that:
- We educate and inform, instead of sell.
- We are independent and work only for our clients, not commissions.
- We want to stay a niche provider because that way we can continue to offer a high level of service to our clients.
- We do what we do because we want to empower people, financially.
Change isn’t a modern issue
Much has changed in the last 10 years, that is true in the financial sector too. If there is one certainty, it is that change will continue.
To paraphrase Charles Darwin: “it is not the strongest or the fittest that survive, it is those most adaptable to change.”
